Pray With Faith

“Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” -James 5:13-16

Something good’s going to happen. Something good is going to happen. Right? It’s something good. Having faith doesn’t mean you know what the good thing is, but when it comes, you’re going to know. So when you pray, pray with faith. Believe that God will hear your prayer and that he’ll do it. That he can, and he will. Pray with faith. Don’t pray like religious folks.  Pray like a girl or a guy praying to his or her dad because that’s what you’re doing. You’re asking your dad for help. He’s a good dad, a loving dad, a present dad. A dad who’s never abandoned you. He’s your loving Father. Pray to him like that.

PRAYER: Dear God, thank you for the good things you do for us. You are our loving dad, thank you for hearing our prayers!

REFLECTION: Do you pray with faith?
