Filled With Compassion

“When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick.” – Matthew 14:14 There are many words we can use for how healing happens through the church, but if I were to pick one, it would be compassion. Nearly every time Jesus heals someone in the Bible, it says He is filled with compassion. The word compassion literally means to “suffer with.” The term passion, often used to describe the cross, comes from a french word that means suffering. So when you add the prefix “co”, it means to suffer with. Suffering with a wounded neighbor, friend or family member has immense healing power.
