The Illusion of Perfection
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.” – Romans 8:1,2 It’s hard to receive love when you have shame in your life. Shame happens when there’s something about yourself that you hate so much, you don’t let anybody see it. You fear rejection due to your lack of perfection. Let me tell you something though — everyone you think is perfect is not nearly as great as you think they are — you just need to get to know them better. When you do, you find out very, very quickly that they have their issues too. When you feel the need to hide any part of yourself from your parents, your spouse, or your closest friends, shame has gotten the best
