Love vs. Isolation

“A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families, he leads out the prisoners with singing; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.” – Psalm 68:5,6 Emotional isolation kills the soul. The first five months of human life are foundational to the health of body, mind, and spirit because that’s when bonding happens. As a baby internalizes the love of his mother, even when she is gone later in life, her love remains present inside of him and allows him to be a loving & empathic person. This carries on through life; we never get to the point where we don’t need to take in love. If you’re not regularly internalizing the love of your your spouse, your kids, or your neighbors and receiving empathy, compassion and vulnerability, you start to become exhausted.
