Where’s Your Tent?

“Now Moses used to take a tent and pitch it outside the camp some distance away, calling it the ‘tent of meeting.’ Anyone inquiring of the Lord would go to the tent of meeting outside the camp.” – Exodus 33:7 Where do you go to meet with the Lord? As we discussed yesterday, Kierkegaard established that the gift of relationship with Jesus is the only true solution to mankind’s problem of mortality. It follows, then, that being with Him and knowing Him is the answer to the meaninglessness that can haunt us as humans. This is why it’s imperative that we have a place where we go to find His presence.  Moses and the Israelites had the Tent of Meeting — a special place outside the camp where they would go specifically to encounter God.
