Make Peace with Your Wilderness

“Moses agreed to stay with the man, who gave his daughter Zipporah to Moses in marriage. Zipporah gave birth to a son, and Moses named him Gershom, saying, ‘I have become a foreigner in a foreign land.’”  – Exodus 2:21,22 Nobody wants to be in the wilderness…at least not initially. Such was most certainly the case for Moses, who after murdering an Egyptian man, was forced to flee to the desert. He killed in a cowardly way and tried to cover his tracks, but he realized the next day that he had been seen by several of his Jewish countrymen, so he ran as fast and furiously as he could because Pharaoh was hot on his trail. Leaving behind his birth family and his privileged life in the palace, the Bible tells us that he landed in Midian, which is neither Hebrew nor Egyptian.  Once settled in a neutral land,
