Compelled to Worship
“After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they were overjoyed.” – Matthew 2:9,10 Do you ever wonder what prompted the Magi to follow the star toward Bethlehem? Who told them a King had been born there? These are questions whose answers we don’t really know, but we can surmise that they were familiar enough with Jewish history to understand that Israel was awaiting a Savior. And, being astute in their astronomy, they were undoubtedly drawn to the bright star they saw in the sky overhead; one that was unlike anything they had ever beheld.
