Seeking and Finding

“When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him.” – Matthew 2:10,11 (NKJV) Can you imagine a group of skilled and learned men of the world traveling thousands of miles to find a child? It’s mind-boggling to envision wealthy Magi falling down prostrate before a baby, and it always leads me to wonder what prompted their humble and submissive posture. No matter what their background, it’s clear that they were not just curious, they were completely convinced that this young boy was worthy of their praise. In fact, the word translated “worship” in this Scripture denotes a demonstrative expression of reverence to another.
