A Matter of Priority

“Joanna the wife of Chuza, the manager of Herod’s household; Susanna; and many others. These women were helping to support them out of their own means.” – Luke 8:3 To wrap up our discussion about wealth in the Kingdom of God, I want to emphasize one very important thing: not everyone will be asked to give up everything that they have. In the parable of the rich young man, Jesus saw that wealth was a stumbling block to total trust; in other words, it was an idol, so He told him to sell it all. On the other hand, there are multiple examples of wealthy people of whom He did not make such a request.
