The Living Water
“Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” – John 7:38 It’s interesting how when the Lord does something new, water is often present, working in tandem with the Holy Spirit. Before He formed the earth, the Bible says that the Spirit of God hovered over the waters. Then, as He began creating, the water and land were separated and seas and rivers were formed. Later, in Genesis 6, when the Lord destroyed humanity, He did so through a great flood; rainwater overtook the world and a new era dawned. When the ark finally settled on top of Mt. Arararat, Noah sent out a dove — a symbol of the Holy Spirit — that returned with an olive branch to let him know that the waters had receded.
