Filtering Out Fear
“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.” – 1 John 4:18 The longer I live, the more I realize how much the world attempts to make us afraid. In fact, it seems there are thousands of things to worry about, especially in the midst of this global pandemic. Even worse, every time we turn on the news or scroll through social media, we ingest yet another string of negative headlines. In fact, there’s a reason why they say in reporting that if it bleeds, it leads! I remember once when I was watching T.V., I saw a promo for the evening news broadcast that said something to the effect of, “Coming up at five, six ways your children may be in danger, but first, a squirrel waterskiing.” The
