God is a Gentleman

“In this wilderness your bodies will fall—every one of you twenty years old or more who was counted in the census and who has grumbled against me. Not one of you will enter the land I swore with uplifted hand to make your home, except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.” – Numbers 14:29,30 Yesterday, we talked about the Israelites’ lack of trust and how they turned an 11-day journey into 40 years of wandering through the wilderness. While the lesson for us in this story is to cultivate the faith of Joshua and Caleb, there’s an interesting observation about the rest of the Jewish population that I believe teaches us something about the heart of God.
