Control Your Words
“With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be.” – James 3:9-10 We conclude our series on the importance of the words we hear and speak. In numerous passages in the Bible, James encourages us to control our words. He says that someone who can control their words is someone who can control their whole life. Like the way the bit in a horse’s mouth controls where the horse goes, or the rudder on a ship that controls its direction, so does the tongue guide a person’s life.
