Wisdom and Knowledge
“Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?” – 2 Chronicles 1:10 Today, let’s reflect on what it truly means to ask for the right things. Despite the many challenges Solomon faced, God appeared to him and asked, “I’ll give you anything—what do you want?” Most people remember Solomon’s famous request for wisdom, but it’s easy to miss that he also asked for knowledge. Solomon’s prayer was for both wisdom and knowledge. God’s response is profound: “Since this is your heart’s desire”—that is, your deepest longing, the thing you want when no one is watching, the desire that lives in your very bones. God sees the heart, knows our truest intentions, and cannot be deceived. God sees Solomon’s heart and says, “Since this is your heart’s desire, and you have not asked for wealth, possessions, or honor.”
