“The next day Jesus decided to leave for Galilee. Finding Philip, he said to him, ‘Follow me.’ ”

– John 1:43

In life, we have to make a choice to follow God, or turn our backs on Him. There’s a famous passage in the book of Joshua, and it states: “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” It was time for the people of Israel to enter the Promised Land, but before they went, Joshua said, “Some of you are worshiping idols and you’re worshiping Yahweh God. But today, as we enter into the Promised Land, you can’t do both anymore. You have to choose either idols or the Lord.” You only get so many moments in your life to make a decision to follow Jesus before you stand before the Lord in your death or the return of Christ.

Maybe you’ve made some mistakes or you experienced something in your life you are ashamed of. These incidents made you feel disqualified and unworthy to follow Christ, but you don’t have to feel that way anymore. Perhaps you grew up a Christian, but you’ve never made the decision: ”I want to follow Christ.” You can make that change today because Christ was crucified and risen from the dead for you. You can be saved and know that when you come to face the Lord, Heaven will be your home. Will you make a decision to do that today?

Friend, when I made the decision to follow Christ, I just said I’m not going to ride the fence anymore, I will commit my life to Him. Yes, I did and my life was never the same. I encourage you to take the opportunity to make a decision right now to follow Jesus Christ.

Prayer

Father, I am not going to ride the fence anymore, today I commit my life to Christ. Thank you for changing my life.

Reflection

How did you feel after committing your life to Christ? Do you understand that is the best decision you can make?
