A Pearl of Great Price

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.”

Matthew 13:45,46

You are beloved sons and daughters of God and nothing can alter your value or worth. If you take a diamond and you stomp on it — even if you throw it away — it’s still a diamond. If you cover it in mud or you paint it black, and even if you call it silly names, it’s still a diamond. Similarly, if you take a hundred dollar bill and step on it, dirty it or crumple it, it’s still a hundred dollar bill. Even soiled or covered in mud, cash has value and purchasing power.

My point is that things of value stay valuable, and the same holds true for you. You are worth far more than a diamond or any amount of money because you are the pearl of great price. No matter how battered down, damaged, worn or trampled you feel, you are still God’s treasure. Never forget that. He is with you, He is for you, and because of His provision, you will never live in lack!

Prayer

Jesus, thank you that in spite of everything I’ve been through, I am always your treasured child.
