“In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.”
-Hebrews 1:10

Have you ever had a moment when, through God’s creation, you somehow experienced a touch from God? Maybe you were looking at crashing ocean waves or snowcapped mountains or a field of flowers or a beautiful stand of trees.

Jesus did this all the time. He always used the mountains, the fields, and the animals to help people understand that the kingdom of God is breaking into this world and that God intends to save the world’s natural resources and its beauty. He’s working on it through the church and through us even now.

And as much as God cares for his creation, he cares so much for you. God actually used gnats to show me how much he loves us. When I realized that, if God cares about these little gnats that most of us detest, how much more does he care for you and me?

Prayer: Dear Lord, as I am blessed by your creation and surrounded by your love, show me the way to be a good steward of all you have given us. Amen.

Reflection: How has God taught you a lesson of love through his creation?
