“… said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”

– Mark 9:23

There is a scripture in the Bible that says all things are possible to those who believe. Yes, all things are possible! In the passage, it does not imply that you are only capable of certain things or that you are only capable of obvious things. It simply says all things are possible. All things are created by God, the creator of the universe, and the one who made Abraham the father of many nations at the age of one hundred years. All things include the miracle of Jesus, who turned Peter from a fisherman into the leader of the church, and all things include God, who resurrected Christ from the dead.

That’s what we call possibility thinking. It’s a way of thinking that doesn’t necessarily say, “This thing IS going to happen,” but it’s a way of saying, ”Is it possible?” Yes it is! Is there still a chance to meet someone or become the person you aspire to be? Is it conceivable that your marriage can be happy again, or your children can change? Is it possible for you to overcome your illness? All things are possible!

Friend, it’s this kind of thinking that builds your faith and transforms you into the type of person you want to be today. The time has come for you to act. Maybe you’ve waited a long time for the right moment to become the kind of person whom you admire. There is no better day than today. The good news is that you do not have to wait until tomorrow to start moving into what is possible. As a matter of fact, I would like you to make a decision today to live in a possibility-thinking universe, the one that God oversees!

Prayer

Father, help me to believe that with you all things are possible.

Reflection

How is your thinking affecting your faith? All things are possible, do you believe that?
