Irene Messoloras serves as the Minister of Music and conductor of the Hour of Power Choir. Dr Messoloras maintains an active career as a conductor, clinician, and adjudicator. She is the director of choral activities at the University of California, Irvine where she conducts the premier vocal ensembles and teaches courses in conducting. Under her baton, Messoloras’s choirs have performed at the NAfME 2014 national conference, ACDA national conferences 2021 and 2023, and have toured extensively throughout Europe and Asia. As the Hour of Power Choir prepares to travel to Cincinnati, Ohio to perform at the ACDA national conference, Irene talks about this exciting opportunity to showcase our very own choir.
Natalie Gonzalez is a member of the Hour of Power Choir. Today, Natalie performs “Lord, I Need You” (Jesse Reeves, Daniel Carson, Christy L. Nockels, Matt Maher, Kristian Paul Stanfill; orch M Riley) and is accompanied by Dr Marc Riley and the Hour of Power Orchestra.
[Subtitled] Arnold Geis is a full-time singer, performing internationally and locally as a session singer and studio musician for live events, television and film. He has performed mainstage roles and premiered works at The Glimmerglass Festival, New York City Opera and Los Angeles Opera. Today, Arnold performs “The End of the Beginning” (David Phelps). He is joined by backup singers Joslyn Sarshad, Connor Smith and Preston Parker, and is accompanied by Dr Marc Riley and the Hour of Power Orchestra.
[Subtitled] Directed by Dr Irene Messoloras, the Hour of Power Choir performs a Latin selection entitled, “Laudate Dominum” (Levente). The choir is accompanied by Bruno Cilloniz on the tambourine.
