“Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.“

– Philippians 2:12,13

I would like to share with you a great and interesting reflection that a friend shared with me. He stated that humans are the only beings on earth that can be less than they were created to be. If you think about a tree, how tall does it get? It grows as high, as deep, and as wide as it can. It’s interesting to think that human beings can choose to be 50% or 10% of who they were created to be. But you can choose something greater. Make the most of who you are and be the best that you can be.

My hope is for you to appreciate the fact that you can choose how you spend your time and money. You can also choose your friends and your church. Your attitude and life skills can be improved by what you choose. Committing your life to Christ allows you to develop these skills and become everything you are made to be. Turn your back on the things that prevent you from becoming the person you were meant to be. Most importantly, you can choose life!

Friend, the Bible states that God lays out life and death for us, blessings and curses. He tells you to choose life. This makes you different from the animals of this world. Wolves have to hunt, geese have to migrate south in the winter, beavers build dams, and chickens lay eggs. However, you don’t have to do any of those things. Today is the day that you can choose to be the best you can be!

Prayer

Father, help me choose the right attitude and improve my life.
