“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.”
– Romans 5:1-2
One of the most amazing aspects of God’s power and God’s goodness is that He is able to break the bondage of all that is happening in our lives, and its effect on us. We can be at peace with God! When we respond in faith to God’s forgiveness, He is able to renew us and transform our hearts. We can put our trust in Him, even though it may take time.
Human beings share one thing in common, and it’s our ability to do evil, or to do wrong in God’s eyes and in our own eyes. We can violate what we believe makes us good, pure, or what we hold dear. In the Bible, there are two types of sins: The sins of commission, which refer to the things we do to others, and the sins of omission, which are the result of not doing something God’s Word teaches that we should do. Some things may weigh heavier on us than others, but we’re all weighed down by the same “briefcase” that we carry from one hand to the other.
Friend, I would like to encourage you today to be at peace with God. There is no doubt that God has made a way for us to do this. When you are able to quiet your heart, look up at the sky and smile. I encourage you today to trust in Jesus in order to be at peace with God. For this reason, He was crucified and raised from the dead so that we may have boldness in coming before God’s throne.
Father, guide me to a place of peace with you.
In what ways has God demonstrated His power in your life by breaking the bondage?
