“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” -Matthew 5:14-16
You have something good to give to this world. Many of us think that we have nothing, like we don’t have anything to offer. But I know you have something good to give this world. The worst thing you can do is keep it all to yourself. You are the light of your world–the fifteen feet of space that surrounds you. All around you are people that need you. You may not recognize it, but they want what you have. God is asking you to give it to them. You are literally a light in a world that is constantly critical, negative, angry. You’re the kind of person that is generous, loving, joyful, positive, and knowledgeable. You have a wealth of good things to give to the hurting people in the fifteen feet of space around you. This hurting world needs your light. Build your faith. God’s going to do something great through you.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, thank you for your goodness. Because of you, I can represent the goodness in this world. Please use me in the fifteen feet of space that surrounds me.
REFLECTION: Think about the people in your world, the fifteen feet of space around you. Who can you share your light with?
