Become as Big as You Can

“This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”

– John 15:8

I will conclude today with my fourth and final obstacle that prevents people from following God’s path. The importance of this may feel even greater if you live in a wealthy city or community. It may be that you are wealthy because God has blessed you, or perhaps you inherited your wealth. In Southern California, our ministry is located in Irvine. It is a city filled with executives, doctors, attorneys, well-educated, and successful people. People who know they already have a fairly good life face the obstacle of not wanting to risk it all for a better one.

You may ask, why risk a decent life in order to live a great life? It’s good to know that you have a nice house, a good family, and money saved up. Clearly, you are doing well and things are looking up for you and your future! Is it worth risking everything to pursue a new dream? The reason you go down the narrow road, even when you have succeeded in the past, is because you need to be all that you were created to be.

Friend, we as humans are the only ones who can choose to be all we are meant to be or less than we are meant to be. A tree grows as big as it can, and an animal does what its instinct tells it to do. God has given you the ability to choose to be the best you can be. The narrow road is calling you if you see it. When you see the dream, when you see the path, when you see the prize, then be encouraged because you have been chosen to walk along that path.

Father, to live a great life, show me where to take risks.

Have you decided to be the best version of yourself that you can be?
