“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
-John 10:10

Many people right now are thinking, “Someday I’m going to be happy.” “Someday I’m going to retire and life will be better.” “Someday my life is going to matter.” Someday I’m going to do great things.” “Someday I’m going to really live.”

If you are one of those people, I have a message for you: Someday is today. It’s up to you. You are choosing, in many ways, to live out some of the things in your life that you don’t like.

There may be times when we feel as though our souls are withering, or as Theroux said, “Most men live lives of quiet desperation and die with a song still in their hearts.” But, that’s not for us. That is not the description of a Christian or a disciple of Jesus Christ.

God has made available to you a wondrous, amazing, awesome life in the kingdom of God, but you have to choose to change your choices and attitudes in order to accept this gift.

Prayer: Dear Lord, I choose to accept the wondrous life you have for me. I am changing my attitudes and making better choices so that I may truly appreciate your awesome gift. Amen.

Reflection: To be open to a better life, what choices and attitudes might you change for the better?
