“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”

– Ecclesiastes 3:11

Yesterday, we encouraged you to have hope! No matter your age, you can still become all you were meant to be! Once you’ve reached your Golden Years and beyond, all the days of your life have culminated into this one moment to be who you are today — the most experienced and most knowledgeable version of yourself! What a great day to make a difference in your life, and in the world! God likes to use senior men and women, like Abraham and Sarah, who became parents at 100 and 90, respectively. God promised Abraham at 75 that he would have a son and become the father of many nations.

So you would think, if you make such a promise to a 75-year-old, God better hurry up, right? He doesn’t have much time before he has to raise this child in a dangerous world. However, God wasn’t rushed. He moved at his own pace. God promised Abraham a blessing at 75, but he had to wait 25 years for the blessing to come true! Even though you say you are 75, 80, 90, or 95, you can still have more years to live and thrive!

Friend, as a pastor, I celebrate weddings and baptisms, but I also support people in hospitals or hospice. When I walk through a hospice center, it is inspirational to see people reading books on self-improvement, reading the newspaper and the Bible, studying a language, or working on themselves. It’s not over till it’s over, so they have hope! I knew a man who was in hospice for three months and went on to live another 10 years. No matter your age, cultivate a new dream and continue to develop who you are!

Prayer

Father, allow me to explore new dreams and develop my identity.
