Constantly changing…

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
-1 Peter 5:7

For those in the early church, it was hard to be a Christian. During various seasons, Christians were hunted, and when they weren’t hunted, they were looked down upon, seen as prudes who were no fun. They were considered outsiders because they didn’t practice the religion of the Roman Empire. They lived in a chaotic territory where everything was about Roman life and that wasn’t their world. Their world was the kingdom of God.

Do you ever feel that way as a Christian, as a believer? Do you ever feel that everything is changing? Maybe not even as a Christian. In our world with constantly changing technology, terrorism, and shifting moral values, it can feel very scary to live in this world.

But, guess what? It doesn’t matter. The world will constantly change but the word of God stays the same. Don’t give up. Be stable.

Prayer: Dear Lord, in this life with its ever-changing circumstances, I cling to you, your love, and your perfect word. Amen.

Reflection: How has the word of God stabilized you in a time of trial?
