“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.”
– Hebrews 10:23
![]() Today, I want to encourage you not to waver, wait, or wander when it comes to walking out God’s plan for your life. In the Old Testament, the Lord told Moses again and again that great and mighty things would happen through him if he agreed to lead the Israelites out of slavery. However, being stubborn and full of self-doubt, he said no four times and offered a laundry list of excuses as to why he shouldn’t be the one to rescue his people from the hand of Egyptians. His refusal caused God’s anger to burn against him, yet the Lord remained gentle and merciful, constantly affirming that He would go before him. Even better, he commissioned his brother Aaron to speak on his behalf so he wouldn’t have to worry about his speech impediment. You see, Jehovah’s provision gave Moses the impetus to move forward and answer His call with confidence, and He does the same for us today. God remains faithful, and He continues to provide everything we need to carry out the tasks He assigns to us. Though we often waver, make excuses, and become complacent, the truth remains that right on the other side of obedience are places, populations, and nations waiting for the sons and daughters of God to arise! My friend, more than ever, the world needs people like you! Despite your perceived shortcomings, your Savior wants to use you to impact the lives of others. He is the author and perfecter of your faith, and He has a plan for your future that will deliver hope, joy, and peace to many hearts. While this year has brought unwanted political, mental, and physical stress to millions, you have the power to give people a glimpse of God’s healing and redemptive love. In this Advent season, keep pressing on in the upward call of God, renew your mind in His truth, and allow Jesus to work marvelous wonders in and through your life! |
Prayer
Jesus, thank you for being faithful, even when I resist your plan and waver in uncertainty and unbelief.
