“In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” -Philippians 1:4-6
Winter: it’s bitter cold, and sometimes, we’re bitter too. Here we are in the week between Christmas and the new year, and we feel so strange. We ask ourselves, “God, what am I doing here?” We wonder what next week is going to hold for us, and what next year is going to hold for us. However, this season of in-between can often be a great time spiritually for us. God is so good; he is always able to take those difficult things we didn’t ask for and things we didn’t want, and use them to prepare us for something great. Spring is known for bringing rebirth, rejuvenation, and renewal. God always has something good coming for you. So rest in your winter, have faith, and stay joyful in the waiting.
PRAYER: Thank you, God, for seasons. Thank you for the difficult and the blissful seasons. You’re there through them all and thank you for the knowledge you give me in each one.
REFLECTION: Are you in a season of winter? Grab a blanket and stay faithful because God is good, and he will bring good things.
