This week, Hour of Power celebrates its 2,500th episode – over 40 years of television outreach around the world. Pastor Bobby teaches that God uses broken, imperfect people to do impossible things with his message: “Fresh Vision.”
Maiya Sykes is a soloist from Southern California. She attended Yale with a triple major in political science, African American studies and music competition. After graduating, she became a background singer and toured with Macy Gray for six years. In 2014, Maiya was a contestant on “The Voice.” Today, Maiya sings “Bridge Over Troubled Water” (comp: Paul Simon; arr: M. Riley) and “Just a Little Talk with Jesus” (comp: Cleavant Derricks; arr: M. Riley). She is joined by Kenton Chen, Desolina DeLauro and Aaron Encinas, and is accompanied by Dr. Marc Riley and the Hour of Power Orchestra.
Directed by Dr. Irene Messoloras, the Hour of Power Choir performs “Be Thou My Vision” a world-premiere performance arranged for the Hour of Power Choir and Orchestra by Robert Spittal. The choir is accompanied by Zeljko Marasovich on the organ and Dr. Marc Riley and the Hour of Power Orchestra.
