How to Communicate with Anyone

February 11, 2024

Pastor Bobby’s encouragement is to see people the way God sees them – through the eyes of love, with today’s message, “How to Communicate with Anyone.”

Ronald Olivier is an author and director of chaplaincy for the Mississippi State Penitentiary. Ronald made some choices in his youth that landed him in the Louisiana State Penitentiary for almost three decades. His new book, 27 Summers: My Journey to Freedom, Forgiveness, and Redemption During My Time in Angola Prison, tells his story of how God redeemed him from his lowest point from inside a prison cell.

Joshua Norwood is a singer and worship leader originally from Sumter, South Carolina, who most recently served at Saddleback Church. In the Spring of 2021, Joshua was hospitalized with COVID for three months and given a 10% chance to live. He was also uncertain if he’d be able to sing again, but after a long road to recovery, he continues to use his voice to glorify God and inspire others through worship. Today, Joshua  performs “Way Maker” (Osinachi Okoro) and is accompanied by Dr. Marc Riley and the Hour of Power Orchestra.

Madeline Reynolds is from Orange County, CA. She graduated from Azusa Pacific University with a BM in Vocal Performance ‘20 and attended UCLA for her Masters in Vocal Performance ‘23. Today, Madeline performs, “Rooftops” (Ben Williams; Jonathan Berlin; Lindsey Nicole Sweat). She is accompanied by Dr. Marc Riley and the Hour of Power Orchestra.

Directed by Dr. Irene Messoloras, the Hour of Power Choir performs a selection in Latin entitled, “Kyrie from Poulenc Mass in G” (Francis Poulenc).

Closing hymn – “O God, Our Help in Ages Past” (Isaac Watts; William Croft; arr: Z. Marasovich; orch: M. Riley)

Scripture – Mark 1:14-20
