People Fuel: God’s Promises for Energy, Positivity & Resilience

Hour of Power with Bobby Schuller welcomes Dr. John Townsend as guest speaker. Dr. Townsend is an internationally acclaimed author, most well-known for the “Boundaries” series. He’s also a business consultant, psychologist, and leadership coach. His new book, People Fuel, shows how we can fill our tanks with relational nutrients. Today’s message: “People Fuel: God’s Promises for Energy, Positivity & Resilience.”

Pastor Chad Blake talks briefly with Dr. Townsend, who says often people feel selfish in admitting their needs, but in fact it’s crucial because when we are relationally connected, we have fewer medical and emotional problems and a higher mortality rate. God designed us to have relationships with people that matter to us.

Aaron Al-Imam & Kelly Cruz perform, “Raise a Hallelujah” (comp: Jonathan David Helser; Melissa Helser; Molly Skaggs; Jake Stevens). Aaron is a vocalist from Orange County, California. A music education major from Vanguard University, Aaron teaches private piano and vocal lessons. Kelly is an actress, singer and character talent artist, as well as a member of the Hour of Power Choir. They are accompanied by Dr. Marc Riley and the Hour of Power Orchestra.

Preston Parker is a reoccurring worship leader here at Hour of Power with Bobby Schuller. Formally trained under Dr. Irene Messoloras, Preston has toured and performed with numerous choirs and organizations locally and internationally. He has also been featured performing on shows like The Oscars and The Ellen DeGeneres show. Preston has also attained many accolades for a variety of work in stage plays, musicals and film productions. Today, Preston performs “Jesus Is” (comp: Carol Joy Cymbala; Jason Michael Webb; Frederick A. Washington; adapt & orch M. Riley). He is accompanied by the Hour of Power Choir, directed by Dr. Irene Messoloras, and the Hour of Power Orchestra, directed by Dr. Marc Riley.

Directed by Dr. Irene Messoloras, the Hour of Power Choir performs “Praise The Lord Who Reigns Above” (comp: Lloyd Larson). The choir is accompanied by Zeljko Marasovich on organ and Dr. Marc Riley and the Hour of Power Orchestra.
