Nita Whitaker is a singer and songwriter who has performed on stage as well as the big and small screen. She has co-produced four independent CD’s and has sung duets with opera singer, Andrew Bocelli, and singer/songwriter, Michael Bolton. Also an author, her newest book, When Your Hand is in the Lion’s Mouth: The Life and Wisdom of a Man Named Green, is a love letter to her father. It tells the story of his faith and the love for his family and community.
Today, Nita performs “This Day” (Edwin Hawkins) and “Not Lucky, I’m Loved” (Terrell Wilson; Jonathan Caleb McReynolds). She is joined by backup singers Melanie Taylor, Kenya Hathaway and Skye LaFontaine, and is accompanied by Dr. Marc Riley and the Hour of Power Orchestra.
The Hour of Power Choir, directed by Dr. Irene Messoloras, performs “Bring Us, O Lord God” (John Donne; William H. Harris).
