Pastor Bobby continues the message series based on The Ten Commandments. Today’s message: “Tap into the Power of Your Roots.”

Charles Pursley taught Spanish and English in Long Beach, California, then South Central Los Angeles for 30 years collectively. He became a mentor and father figure to many students in crisis. In the mid 1970’s to mid 1980’s, he owned a travel agency and traveled the world. Married for 57 years, he has two children, Larry and Linda, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Charles is retired, living in Orange, California, and sits with his wife, Jo Dean close to the front every Sunday at the 9:25 service of Shepherd’s Grove and watches his grandson, Bobby Schuller, with pride.

Justin Anthony Long is an actor, writer and director. Justin earned a B.A. in Theater Studies from Montclair State University and has appeared on television and in film, including “City of Dreams,” and “Pluto.” His theater credits include “Mary Poppins,” “Next to Normal,” and “Cabaret.” Justin is currently playing the role of “Joseph” in 3D Theatricals’ and Marc Kudisch’s “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” Today, Justin and the Voices of Hope Children’s Choir with the cast of “Joseph” perform “Any Dream will Do” (comp: Andrew Lloyd Webber). Justin, the children’s choir and the Hour of Power Choir are accompanied by Dr. Marc Riley and the Hour of Power Orchestra.

Directed by Don Neuen, the Hour of Power Choir, along with soloist Ernest Alvarez, performs “Sanctus” (comp: Charles Gounod). The choir is accompanied by Zeljko Marasovich on the organ.
