The Cross of Repentance and Humility

March 22, 2020

Pastor Bobby continues the sermon series entitled “Take Up Your Cross.” In this series, Pastor Bobby will teach on the various crosses in life we have to bear, but that in Christianity we believe there is no cross without a resurrection. Today’s message: “The Cross of Repentance and Humility.”

Kevin Downes is an actor, producer, and director who appeared in films such as “Courageous” and “Moms Night Out.” He also produced the hit film, “I Can Only Imagine,” as well as the new movie, “I Still Believe,” the story of Christian music artist Jeremy Camp. “I Still Believe” is in theaters nationwide.

Ken Medema is an Hour of Power favorite. Born nearly blind, Ken began playing the piano at age five and today performs all over the world. Ken’s performances regularly include songs that have been improvised both musically and lyrically and are based on a sermon or story he has just heard. Today, Ken performs “Oh Lord, You’re Beautiful” (comp: Keith Green) and “Hope in God” (comp: Ken Medema). He is accompanied by Dr. Marc Riley and the Hour of Power Orchestra. Ken also performs a song called “Reflection Song” which is based on the sermon he just heard by Bobby.

Hour of Power 50th Anniversary Clip – Today’s montage includes “This is the day the Lord has made – let us rejoice and be glad in it” by Dr. Robert H. Schuller from 1970 – 1995, and by Pastor Bobby from 2012 – 2019.

Directed by Dr. Irene Messoloras, the Hour of Power Choir performs “To the Lamb on the Throne” (comp: Dan Forrest). The choir is accompanied by Zeljko Marasovich on the organ, and Dr. Marc Riley and the Hour of Power Orchestra.

  2. How i look forward to watching the Hour of Power with Bobby every Sunday – as we are now told to ‘isolate in place’ here in Vancouver, B.C. where i live it is pretty tough. How i so enjoyed seeing friends for coffee & fellowship twice a week now the only way we can keep in touch is by phone.
The wonderful thing is that the coffee bar i go to i have met a few other Christians who live in he community as well.
I hope to see them eventually one day when this pandemic is finally over – i pray every day for my family – my daughter & 3 grandchildren who live just outside Toronto & i haven’t seen since 2017. My brother & sister in law are due home today from Palm Springs & will have to self isolate for 14 days.

My thanks to Bobby & to the book he wrote “Keep Hope Alive’ – my goodness me how much it has helped me in my journey.

    Thank you so much

    June 🙂

    1. Hi June,

Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing this with us! We’re so glad you have enjoyed watching Hour of Power and that this ministry has been able to be a blessing to you. It’s also wonderful to hear that you’ve found a great community of other Christians to fellowship with, and we pray that God will continue to bless those relationships even after this pandemic is over. May He keep you and your family safe during this time, and continue to richly bless you and give you hope as you walk with Him! 🙂

God loves you and so do we,
      -Hour of Power Team
