His newest book, Words with God: Trading Boring, Empty Prayer for Real Connection, looks at how we can enter into conversations with God on a deeper and more intimate level, and shows us how Jesus intended prayer to be.
Princeton Parker is a songwriter, musician, vocalist and speaker. A graduate of USC with a B.A. in communication, Princeton is the founder and CEO of Building Without a Blueprint, an organization that helps mentor young leaders in high school and college who are pursuing their purpose. Preston Parker is a reoccurring worship leader here at Hour of Power and has toured and performed with numerous choirs and organizations locally and internationally. He has also been featured performing on shows like The Oscars and The Ellen DeGeneres show. Today, brothers Princeton and Preston perform “Fill the Room” (Brandon Peavy; Naomi Raine; Blake Milton). They are joined by backup singers Joslyn Sarshad, Connor Smith and Sam Capella, and are accompanied by Dr. Marc Riley and the Hour of Power Orchestra.
Dr. Symone Starr-Parker is a business professor who has worked in public administration, social services and higher education for the past 36 years. Singing has always been a hobby of Symone’s, and she has been featured in concert numerous times, starred and traveled with the hit play “The High Life,” and recorded and traveled with Voices in Praise. Today, she is the founder and CEO of her own business, EVENT DRSSP, a special events and planning company. Dr. Starr-Parker joins sons Princeton and Preston Parker and they perform “We Are Not Ashamed” (lead vocals arranged by Preston Parker; Andrae Crouch). They are joined by the Hour of Power Choir, directed by Dr. Irene Messoloras, and accompanied by the Hour of Power Orchestra, directed by Dr. Marc Riley.
The Hour of Power Choir, along with vocalists Abdiel Gonzalez and Todd Strange, and directed by Dr. Irene Messoloras, performs “Requiem: Psalm 121” (Herbert Howells). Abdiel reads from Psalm 121 prior to the choral performance.
