Pastor Bobby begins a new message series on how to be happy and whole students of Jesus entitled, The Narrow Road: How to be Alive. Today’s message: “The World Needs Someone Like You.”
Emily Reed is a soprano soloist from Orange County, California, and Johann Reed is a bass-baritone soloist from Reykjavik, Iceland. In 2014, Emily graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in music from Chapman University Conservatory of Music and in 2010, she was named a grand prize finalist for the Los Angeles Music Center Spotlight Awards. Johann earned his Masters in Music degree from Indiana University, studying under baritone Wolfgang Brendel, and has performed in numerous theatrical plays, including South Pacific, Les Miserables and Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro. Emily and Johann were married in 2015. Today, Emily and Johan perform “Holy Spirit, Living Breath of God” (comp: Keith Getty; Stuart Townend; arr: David Angerman; Stewart Harris), and Emily performs “The Lord is My Light” (comp: Frances Allitsen; adapt: M. Riley). Aaron McClaskey accompanies both performances on the piano.
Directed by Don Neuen, the Hour of Power Choir performs “Psalm of New Beginnings” (comp: Earlene Rentz). The choir is accompanied by Zeljko Marasovich on the organ.

Is there any way I could recieve a written copy of the sermon “The World Needs Someone Like You” ?
I watched your service last week and had wondered why you did not wear a robe like your Grandfather did. To my surprise and shock, you not only wore a robe today, but your Grandfathers’ robe!! God always bless you Pastor Bobby and thank you for carrying on your Grandfathers’ amazing work. I loved and watched him for years and you are everything he was.

Pastor Bobby, I am confused. I have come back to church at Shepherd’s Grove because of your individuality. You are uniquely you. I understand your ties to your Grandfather, your father and the many who have guided you. We all have good memories of where we have come from. But personally your robe reminds me of a time of conflict that was very difficult in my church life. When I came to church today, I was taken back. I look at you as a fresh new direction, a direction that leaves the past behind us and takes us forward to all the Heavenly Father has for us in the future. As much as I disagree with your choice, I will pray for you. I appreciate you, and your message always affirms my heart.
Congradulations Pastor Bobby on having the courage today to dawn your grandfather’s robe. They say you have big shoes to fill but in this case – The Robe! You are more than ready and well abled and we pray that you will have the wisdom of Job, the insight of Joseph and the love of Christ to stand tall in his “coat of many colours”. I am sure your Grandfather would be so proud! Thank you for being an inspiration to us all. God loves you and so do I!

Your grandfathers robe is nice I miss him he got me through much so many years ago.
But a robe does not make a man of God. I miss you and your Grey or brown tie the one you wore for so
long that was YOU!! I like a preacher of the word not Norman Vincent Peal power of positive thinking
Gods word is enough!! Gods words are positive and enough. Bless you and your wife she is adorable just the way she is.
Bobby your grandpa opened the door for me to Jesus 🙂
Now your sermons gives me strength to walk on.
Thank you

Thank you! Your messages inspire me. I appreciate the love and respect you have for the robe. I appreciate your sincerity in explaining why you choose to wear it. I respect you. May our Lord bless you and your family. May our Lord continue to speak through you. Your message today was wonderful. As I listened to you, I knew God was speaking to me. Confirming what I already knew. I will pray for you. You are doing great!

I saw you in that robe and thought to myself “That’s just like the one his grandfather had! That’s so cool” Then you added that the robe actually WAS his robe. I started crying too! I’ve always felt like you where carrying on his mission and YOU are definitely deserving of wearing that robe. Grampa is proud of you and so are we.
