“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”

– Romans 12:21

As Christians, we are constantly in a battle with the enemy! It’s critical to recognize that we have an opponent who is out to steal, murder, and destroy. Despite how counterintuitive it may sound, I don’t want you to be terrified of him because he’s already been defeated. Don’t ignore your adversary’s teachings, but don’t become discouraged, oppressed, or anxious about his influence in your life. You have authority and power against the forces of darkness as a believer in Jesus Christ, baptized into His Kingdom and covered by His blood. This is because you share your identity with your Savior; you are seated with Him in the heavenly realms and join in the work He finished on the cross. Even if the devil tempts and tests you, he does not have the final say!

Friends, the Kingdom of God has come to earth, and Jesus has prepared the road for you to walk in righteousness! In the eyes of the Lord, your sins have been forgiven, and you are justified. He who had no sin became sin for you to be called the righteousness of God, not a filthy, rotten sinner. That’s something you can rely on!  You can depend on the Lamb’s blood, which is greater than any animal sacrifice or other offering since it is final. It was indeed finished when Jesus proclaimed, “It is finished!” You are secure, protected, anointed, called, and blessed; you are above and not beneath; you are the head and not the tail; you have control over all spiritual forces of darkness in this world! You have power through Jesus Christ, the living Word of God, even though you have sinned and made mistakes. Yes, you are in a struggle, but you may walk in the Lord’s authority, claim His name, and watch Him fight for you! Isn’t that fantastic news?

Prayer

Jesus, thank you for using your Word and in your Name to give me dominion over the forces of darkness and evil in this world.

Reflection

In what areas of your life do you perceive fights against darkness raging? What good does it do you to know your place in Christ?

  1. Dear Bobby, all your posts are powerful.
God uses them to teach & encourage me on my journey of FAITH.
Yes the enemy wages war against me. I have to repent of FEAR, often. I have learnt in my journey that nothing is greater that YAHWEH, the ALL CONSUMING FIRE that refines us.
Ive experienced what Satan meant for evil, God used for my good. The following scriptures help me to wait on the LORD & rejoice in all circumstances, Habakkuk 2:1-4, 14
    Habakkuk 3:17-19.
BUT I am only human & cry out, Lord Jesus I am desperate for you, for I can do absolutely nothing without you, & will continue to Praise & Bless you, no matter what I face, for the one in me is greater that the one in the world so I CAN do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
    I believe HELP my unbelief.
Dear Bobby, You are such a blessing to me.
The words you preach are the EXACT WORDS I NEED TO HEAR AT THE RIGHT MOMENT
