“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” – 1 Peter 4:10

Many of us wonder if we really did anything that mattered or if we really made a difference in the world. We desire to be famous and well know, to make sure that what we do is known. The desire to be famous is not actually from a bad place. People want it so their lives will have an impact. From the world, you will get the message that is you’re famous, your life truly mattered. In other words, if you’re a great politician, actor, singer, or you write a bestselling book, or you do something that most people know you for, well then you really made a difference. The first part is good. I want to have a life that makes a difference in the world, but I think the second part is missing something. That it’s okay and even great sometimes to have a claim and to succeed and even be famous, but in the end, it’s not what is going to matter. Despite being famous or not, your life is having a much grander impact than you probably know — especially more than you feel.

PRAYER: Thank you, God, that through you, our life matters — no matter what we do.

REFLECTION: Do you want to be famous?
