“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”
– Matthew 25:35,36
![]() Please consider not limiting your service to chores only. Yes, we serve through chores in some cases, whether it’s cooking for your family or helping your grandma or best friend. Maybe you have to carry things and help someone move. But we should never discount that all of our creativity, all of our art, and our work are trained skills for serving others. All waiters, customer service agents, and nurses are trained in the art of serving others. People who were in the military are often asked, “Did you serve in the military?” Their training and service make them eligible to answer. Friend, the Holy Spirit empowers us to serve. The Holy Spirit inspires us with ears to hear, eyes to see, and the Holy Spirit’s guidance is always with us. It is a principle that what you have in life is the result of the quality and quantity of your service. |
Prayer
Father, show me how to identify a need and fill it.
Reflection
