“For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.” -Luke 8:17

Love and fear are completely at odds because in order to experience love in life, you have to allow yourself to be vulnerable. You have to allow people to see you deeply; you have to show people your flaws, sins, fears, and doubts. You have to be able to show yourself — and it’s scary. There are a lot of judges out there — a lot of people feeling shame who will be quick to reject you and judge you. It’s so painful, I get it. But stop creating a character for yourself. Say goodbye to it because you are worth love, affection, and belonging just as you are and not as you should be — warts and all. That’s why the most flawed people in the world sometimes are the most lovable. Sometimes it’s easier to be around sinners than it is around saints.

PRAYER: Thank you, God, for enabling us to just be ourselves. We are loved as we are by many.

REFLECTION: How can you be vulnerable with your loved ones today?
