“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” -Matthew 6:25-27
So in life, there is so much light and so much good that is happening. Focus on what is good: focus on the dream that God put on your heart, focus on his character, focus on the word, connect with your friends and your family deeply, and let go of all that dark stuff. Don’t let those things entangle you. The enemy’s desire is to get your focus off of the light onto the dark: regrets, shame, addiction, and beating yourself up. Just let it go; let it go! God’s strong enough to carry you. It’s going to be all right. Don’t worry. Jesus then tells us that exact thing – don’t worry.
PRAYER: Thank you, God, for carrying us. With you, we don’t have to worry.
REFLECTION: How can you practice letting go of the dark stuff today?
