“Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.”

Isaiah 53:4-5

Maybe today you’re addicted. Maybe you’re addicted to a substance, maybe you’re sexually addicted to stuff, maybe you’re addicted to spending, or you’re addicted to work. Maybe you’re withdrawing into whatever it is and you feel guilty about it and you have a lot of shame as you keep asking God, forgive me. Forgive me. Forgive me. But the Lord might be saying to you today that maybe more than forgiveness, you need healing. At the core of some of these decisions is a brokenness, hurt, loneliness, emptiness, and meaninglessness that hasn’t been addressed leaving you powerless in your ability to make good decisions.

Thank you, God, for your ability to heal. You heal on accident by just touching the hem of your garment. You can heal me.
