“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

John 8:12

It is winter. And when we go into winter, things get darker and people tend to get negative. I have heard pastors, including myself, say that Christmas is the season in which suicide is at its highest. But I found out that is not true at all. It is a totally old wives tale. Actually the highest season of suicide is spring. Christmas is one of the lowest seasons of suicide because people are getting together and connecting deeply with one another. They have a break from work. They are getting a fresh vision for their lives. And that is what God has for you this Christmas. It is getting darker during this winter and Christmas season, but picture it as this: The lights are going down because a great show is about to happen!

Prayer

Lord, thank you for loving me. As this Christmas season approaches, bring joy into my life. Please give me a fresh vision for my life. You are my greatest gift.
