“Surely the righteous will never be shaken; they will be remembered forever. They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.”
-Psalm 112:6

The original books of the Bible were super expensive to make. A man named Theophilus bankrolled two of the books of the Bible. It has been estimated that to write a book of the Bible on papyrus back in the day cost thousands of dollars. So, one wealthy man wrote a check for thousands of dollars to fund two books of the Bible.

Aren’t you glad that there are people like Theophilus in the world? We should dream that we could be that kind of a person, the kind of person that can give, fund, and help accomplish the things that touch people with God’s love and truth.

Generosity is what makes us truly wealthy, not all the junk we gather.

Prayer: Dear Lord, I don’t need any more stuff. I only need to give of myself and my resources, sharing your love and generosity with all I meet. Amen.

Reflection: What might you cut back on to be able to give more generously to others?
