“Be very careful, then, how you live — not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.”

– Ephesians 5:15,16

We are so accustomed to clocking in and out of our lives. It’s easy to clock in at work, church, or school, and then check out once we get home. In a way, both of them are checking out — you’re checking out of life. But God asks us not to get through life, but to get from life. Get from the day, not through it! The lessons that can be learned from life are endless. Don’t get through a challenge, get from it. Receive a sense of God’s goodness from life, and you’ll see that your life will grow and be exciting every morning.

Much of who you become comes from being in the field, and the people you’re in the field with. Much of who you become comes from being in the field, and the people you’re in the field with. Many people today want less work or no work. So many people today want less drama and fewer challenges. I can understand there are times when life can be taxing, draining, and hard. We can feel tired sometimes. But I’m encouraging you to want more from life, your Christian walk, your Bible, your church, and more from your life experience.

Friend, I’m encouraging you to make a bigger impact, to touch as many lives as you can and to become more! To become more, I believe, starts with showing up, by getting out into the field as much as you can. Rather than ask God for fewer obstacles or an easy road, ask Him to strengthen you and give you the courage to go through the process!

Father, help me to be on the playing field and with the right people!

What can you do to make a bigger impact, to help as many lives as possible, and to become more effective?

    New International Version
17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate[a] the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
