“Then one of them said, ‘I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife will have a son.’ Now Sarah was listening at the entrance to the tent, which was behind him. Abraham and Sarah were already very old, and Sarah was past the age of childbearing.”
– Genesis 18:10,11
![]() Yesterday, we talked about how Abraham lavishly welcomed God and His angels to his tent. He washed their feet, had Sarah bake them fresh bread, and fed them steak from his fatted calf. In other words, He spared no expense to show them hospitality, and neither should we. Since the Father of Creation sent His Son, who humbled Himself to the point of death on a cross and then came to live inside of us, we are free to fully surrender our lives to His service. In fact, welcoming Him and walking in His presence creates a breeding ground for miracles. The story of the Lord’s visit to Abraham and Sarah goes on to say that after being warmly received, He delivered good news. While she was well beyond childbearing years (in fact, she was probably 90 years old), He promised that she would have a son within the next year. Though she laughed at the thought, her experience proved her doubts unfounded, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Isaac. You see, regardless of how unthinkable it was from a human standpoint, in Jehovah’s power, it was entirely possible. By welcoming Him to their midst, this couple received the seeds of a miracle that changed the entire world. Even better, since He is the same yesterday, today, and forever, these kinds of supernatural blessings can still abound to us right now! My friend, the Lord lives in your heart, and He is constantly bringing good news! In fact, the more you roll out the red carpet for His presence, the greater His power in you becomes. As you abide in His truth, strengthen your soul in prayer, feed your spirit through praise, and meditate on His amazing promises, you will see the impossible happen in your midst. By building yourself up in your most holy faith (Jude 1:20), you will experience His life-changing love and unleash a fountain of divine power that brings His presence to earth in very tangible ways! |
