God Can Do a Lot With Your Little

“It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.”

– Mark 4:31,32

If you give God a little bit, He can do a lot. If you give God an apple seed, He can give you an apple tree. We think we have to grow it into a seedling before we plant it, but God says to just plant it. Most people think they need to prepare, think, and read, and all those things are important, but we often forget to just get started. Taking action is all you need to do. Step out, and do something with what God has given you!

I love the wisdom imparted to a young man by Warren Buffett, who is considered one of the greatest investors of all time. At the annual stockholder’s meeting, this man raised his hand and said, “Mr. Buffett, I’m a young man starting out in life, and I have $1,000 in savings. What’s the best way to invest $1,000?” He suggested not investing in index funds, gold, or businesses. Instead, he said to invest in yourself. Take a course, read a book, and invest in something that will make you more valuable to the marketplace.

Friend, God wants to take the little that you have and multiply it for the Kingdom of God. By investing in yourself, you will earn more per hour than you would have before that $1,000. Warren Buffet also said that talent can’t be inflated away. Whatever you learn in life can’t be taken from you. The wisdom you’ve gained from life experiences will last even if the money runs out.

Prayer

Father, help me invest in myself so I can be more valuable to others.

Reflection

How much do you value the lessons you have learned throughout your life? What are some ways you can invest in yourself?

  1. I did think God was using me to help others in some way but now Satan has taken over. Is God still using me for something. I do not know. Comment. Address Satan in my life. I have been donating money to charities and talking to family members about God trying to help them a little at times. Do you not know what to do about Satan in me. I know you are trying to help me i think. You never say anything about Satan. I am trying to have faith and trust in Jesus. Satan talks to me every day. Disturbing.

    1. Talk back to the Devil or I picture a big red door and the devil is standing on the other side and then when I hear the negative voice of doom I slam the door! Sometimes I board it up and then I sigh and walk away. Best of luck!!

    2. 1I Peter 5: 8-9 8 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 9 Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.

  2. God did say something a few days ago. He said one word problem. Satan is a problem. That is all he is. Sure has not been that way it has been more than that. Trying to trust God.Doubting. tom
