“For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.”
– Habakkuk 2:3
![]() As we continue to talk about not living life in a hurry, I want to encourage you with this thought: you already have everything that you need! You have all the time in the world, all the health in the world and all the life in the world made available to you through Jesus Christ. You are a ceaseless being in God’s great Kingdom and you have an eternal destiny. According to the dictionary, destiny means “a predetermined course of events often held to be an irresistible power or agency.” Since you know the One who holds your future, and the One who is the originator of all destiny, you can rest assured that you will get to where you need to be, right on schedule. Hurrying won’t get you there faster; it will just make the journey more painful and arduous. It will also cause your days to go by faster in a world that already moves at a frantic pace. Some of the worst decisions you can make in your life are made in a hurry, so today, slow down, relax and trust in the goodness of God. He’ll get you to your destiny, not a moment too soon or too late — He is always right on time! |
Prayer
Jesus, I thank you that you are always on time and that in you, I have everything that I need to live my life, day-by-day and moment-by-moment.
Reflection
In which areas of your life to you tend to hurry? How might knowing that Jesus holds your eternal destiny change your perspective?
