“Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,  for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.” – Philippians 2:12-13

We take all the miracles out of the miraculous world. It’s not a miracle that a baby is born. If you’ve had kids, you know that it’s the biggest thing that causes people to believe in God. It’s not a miracle that you put a seed in the ground and it green into a tree that produced fruit that sustains you. God has created a world that even today sustains us and miracles are happening all around us — all the time. We like to make a scientific observation and write it in a book and say there is no God. Then we go on fearing death, doing whatever we want, and we look into the vast abyss and say there is nothing. But it’s not true. This world is amazing. You know miracles are happening every day. I’ve seen them with my own eyes. Miracles are a sign that God is at work in this world. It all started with the resurrection of Jesus; heaven is breaking into our world all the time.

PRAYER: Dear God, thank you for your work in this world. Thank you for being present and for making this world look a little more like heaven.

REFLECTION: What miracles can you see God doing, today?
