“Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.”
– Joshua 1:7
![]() As we end our series on using fear and stress to our advantage, there is no better day to move ahead than today. Now is the time to take a real step forward. You don’t have to tell anyone about it, just do it. It is God who says let’s go! It is time for you to do that thing you’re afraid of because that’s the sign you should do it. Just make a commitment and promise to yourself that you are going to respect yourself enough to do what you are afraid of! Here’s an example of how our fear can make us stagnant. Whenever I sit in my favorite cafe, which serves the best croissants and coffee for $5, I reflect on this beautiful 150-foot yacht that just sits in the harbor. This ginormous yacht has blocked my view for two years. It is impossible for me to see the sunrise from the perfect angle looking down the harbor, where you can see the mountains, water, boats, and the fog that comes off the ocean. At first, I was fine with it, but after a couple of years, I wanted the owner to take a voyage! Similarly, in God’s eyes, we are an amazing piece of work that’s capable of so much, but we’re just sitting in a harbor blocking people’s views. Friend, make the choice to do what’s scary because you know it sits on a pile of gold. It sits on your destiny. Let me encourage you; you can do it. When you go, God gives you all the power you need. He doesn’t give you power before you go; the power comes when you go! Try it, and you’ll see God is with you. |
Prayer
Father, help me to take action daily to move ahead.
